Bullguard Review – Is it Worth the Price?

Bullguard is a solid security suite that covers all the basics. It’s not as feature-rich as the competition however it is a solid solution for those looking to get a bit more out of their antivirus software. It’s also efficient in terms of resources by avoiding the burden of heavy load on the system and offering a range of options to lighten it when it is needed.

The program opens to a hub-like application that features a tiled layout for its various modules, such as antivirus, firewall as well as PC tune up game booster and home network scanner. The « Vulnerabilities’ section will alert you to issues such as missing Windows updates autostart service, as well as open ports. Gamers will find the « Game Booster » feature beneficial, as it can detect when you’re playing and automatically optimize your system.

In our tests, bullguard was pretty effective in stopping malware infections, and was relatively light on system resources in comparison to most competing products in terms of CPU usage. We did notice, however that the background processes of the antivirus look at more info took up a lot of RAM, particularly on machines with limited memory. When viewed on a high-resolution display the hub app looked to be pixelated.

Bullguard’s Premium Protection subscription includes an app for mobile devices that offers parental controls, antitheft, and basic backup support for your tablet or smartphone. However, the application is fairly minimal and doesn’t have important features like security for your webcam or shredders of files. Likewise, phone support is only offered via live chat and email.
